Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini addressed members of the media this morning (30 October 2017) to give progress on efforts to find a sustainable solution for the payment of social grants in the country.

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will on Monday, October 30, give progress on the future payments of social grants.
This follows after a procurement process between the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and the South African Post Office (SAPO).

The issues of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) expiry card has brought a lot of uncertainty among social grant beneficiaries who are now living in fear of what will happen when the card expires on 31 December 2017 . SASSA would like to assure beneficiaries of social grants that the matter has been dealt with and resolved by all parties concerned, namely CPS (Cash Paymaster Services) PASA and MasterCard.
