This follows after a procurement process between the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and the South African Post Office (SAPO).

The issues of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) expiry card has brought a lot of uncertainty among social grant beneficiaries who are now living in fear of what will happen when the card expires on 31 December 2017 . SASSA would like to assure beneficiaries of social grants that the matter has been dealt with and resolved by all parties concerned, namely CPS (Cash Paymaster Services) PASA and MasterCard.

The date of 17 October this year marks the 25th anniversary of the International Day for the eradication of poverty as declared by the United Nations General Assembly. Under the theme “Answering the call of October 17 to end poverty: A path toward peaceful and inclusive societies”, people are urged to do more to end poverty in all its forms by applying strategies that will ensure that no one is left behind and human rights are safeguarded.
