Social Development Deputy Minister Hendrietta Bogopane - Zulu addressed hundreds of people from the Moshana village outside Zeerust in North West  on 18 February 2019 as part of the Pink Drive  initiative. The campaign seeks to ensure that women and men are tested for breast as well as prostate cancers. With the theme early detection saves lives, the drive brought a number of stakeholders together to offer comprehensive services to the people of Moshana.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bogopane - Zulu called upon parents, partners, couples and young women to test regularly so that they know their status. She emphasized that government departments working together with key partners will defeat the scourge of poverty and diseases.
She further appealed to social grants recipients who have not yet swapped their old SASSA cards to do so without delay by simply visiting their nearest offices and to also take advantage of the services provided during the event. " I want to also request beneficiaries of social grants to select the right card for the payment of their social grants and that card is the new gold SASSA card. This card enables you to access your money anytime from the 1st of every month. There is no need for you to push one another on the first day of payment as your money is safely kept in your card and can be accessed any time", she said.
Several creches received gifts in the form of toys and chairs. The campaign will run for the whole week in the neighbouring areas of Moshana.
