By Phaladi Seakgwe

Social Development Deputy Minister Hendrietta Bogopane - Zulu has assured elderly people in Mpumalanga that government will always be there for senior citizens and address their concerns.
The Deputy Minister was speaking during a luncheon she held for senior citizens in Mayflower. Speaking to hundreds of elderly people mostly grant recipients, she further said it is not often that elderly people are given a platform to directly speak to government and raise their concerns.
One grant recipient told the Deputy Minister that they easily forget their pins when withdrawing their grants and now have to rely on others to withdraw money on their behalf. She challenged SASSA to ensure that it looks at the conditions under which they are paid.
Deputy Minister Bogopane - Zulu assured them that government will do anything possible to ensure that beneficiaries are not disadvantaged in any way.
She further appealed to those who still had the old white SASSA cards to swap them immediately as they would not be paid in January 2019 if they had not done so.
